I'm glad to receive an email from SSC that I have been appointed as a key volunter leader (Drink Station Leader).
It wasn't what I had initally applied for, but I guess it's still a good opportunity to get involve in the event.
Responsibilities: Manage drink station operations of assigned drink station including ensuring drink station staffs are familiar with drink station set-up and duties. Key liaison between Drink Station Staff and Drink Station Manager (pre, post and on Event Day). Undertake regular communication with Drink Station Staff, other ground staff and Organising Committee to ensure all operations are as planned and under control. Record the attendance of all Drink Station Staff on the morning of Event Day. Collect and distribute all necessary equipment welfare for respective Drink Station Staff on Event Day Be aware of where the nearest First Aid Stations in your respective sector are, in the event of casualty or runners requiring medical assistance. Report incidents to the respective Drink Station Manager & assist in emergencies where needed. When Drink Station has officially stood down, ensure all Drink Station Staff are transported back to the Padang for return of equipment and collection of token reimbursement & Certificate of Appreciation. Collect equipment from Drink Station Staff Route Marshals and return to Route Management Manager. 1 We are pleased to inform you that as a value-add to our key volunteers, we have arranged a one-day CPR Training Session.
2 The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) is an international sporting event that attracts running elites and enthusiasts from Singapore and around the world. With a fast, flat and scenic route, the event attracted an expected crowd of 31,000 runners in 2006, besides stamping its place as THE running event in Singapore; this event has gained good reviews from international marathon circles and is becoming one of the top marathons in Asia.
3 We encourage you to attend the training session, as it will be beneficial to you in your volunteer position as well as in life should you encounter any emergency situation where you may be of help. In addition, at the end of the course you will be awarded a recognized certificate from the Singapore Red Cross Society.
4 Please take note of the following details for your CPR Training session:
